Series
This approach allows employees to address multiple health issues in ongoing seminars. The goal is to create a culture of wellness. Many health issues are related. Nutrition and exercise often go together. Smoking cessation often is about more than throwing away cigarettes - it's about how to cope with physical and emotional changes. Taking a holistic approach to your company's health concerns increases the likelihood of lasting, positive change.
The advantage of a series is the time allotted to addressing seemingly different problems that, in reality, share common roots.
A series also makes employees accountable for change through activities that build on their success and provide continuous motivation.
Series run quarterly, bimonthly or monthly.
Series include:
- Survey to rank the health issues in order
of importance
- Presentations that teach about a
particular topic and allow participants to develop strategies to
overcome barriers to change
- Activities and assignments that assess
participants' progress and adherence
- Newsletter that follows up on the previous
seminar and prepares participants for upcoming topics
- Progress reports (aggregate data)
- Follow-up report with recommendations for further initiatives
